It’s all about the Amps on the 12v rail, generic PSU’s tend to have loads of rails with the amperage spread out accross them meaning they can’t supply enough power when it is really needed, whereas power supplies from good brand names tend to have 1 or two rails that have a much higher Amp rating which means they can power a much more hungry card.
